Refund policy

Thank you for shopping with The Mestizo. Please review our Return Policy carefully before placing your order.

Return Window

We have a 14-day return policy. This means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, the return request must be submitted within 14 days of the delivery date shown by the shipping carrier.

If your return request is accepted, your return package must be shipped within 48 hours of return approval or return label issuance, unless otherwise approved by The Mestizo in writing.

Returns shipped after the 48-hour period may be refused or may be subject to a $25 restocking fee per item, which will be deducted from the refund amount.

Return Shipping Fee

If your return is accepted and we provide a prepaid return shipping label, a $25 flat return shipping fee will be deducted from your refund amount.

Original shipping charges, if any, are non-refundable unless required by law or unless the return is due to an error by The Mestizo.

Return Eligibility

To be eligible for a return, your item must be:

  • In the same condition that you received it
  • Unworn, unused, unwashed, and unaltered
  • Free from stains, makeup, deodorant, fragrance, pet hair, damage, or signs of wear
  • Returned with all original tags attached
  • Returned in its original packaging, where applicable
  • Accompanied by a receipt, order number, or other proof of purchase

Items that do not meet these conditions may be refused or returned to the customer at the customer’s expense.

Final Sale and Non-Returnable Items

We do not accept returns or provide refunds on:

  • Custom orders
  • Personalized items
  • International orders
  • Sale items
  • Items marked “Final Sale”
  • Gift cards
  • Items that have been worn, used, washed, altered, damaged, or returned without original tags

Sale items and gift cards are final sale and cannot be returned, exchanged, or refunded.

International Orders

International orders are final sale and are not eligible for returns, exchanges, or refunds.

International shipping charges, customs duties, taxes, tariffs, brokerage fees, and other import-related charges are non-refundable.

Custom Orders

Custom orders, personalized items, and made-to-order items are final sale and are not eligible for returns, exchanges, or refunds unless the item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect due to an error by The Mestizo.

How to Start a Return

To start a return, you may request a return through your Customer Account or contact us at:

Please include your order number and the item or items you would like to return.

If your return is accepted, we will send you a return shipping label and instructions on how and where to send your package.

Items sent back to us without first requesting and receiving return approval will not be accepted.

We do not accept returns sent cash-on-delivery or postage due.

Damages, Defects, and Wrong Items

Please inspect your order immediately upon receipt.

If your item is defective, damaged, or if you received the wrong item, please contact us as soon as possible at clientcare@themestizo.com so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Please include:

  • Your order number
  • A description of the issue
  • Photos of the item
  • Photos of the packaging and shipping label, if the item was damaged in transit

Damage, defect, or wrong-item claims must be reviewed and approved by The Mestizo. We may offer a replacement, exchange, store credit, refund, or other resolution depending on the circumstances and product availability.

Exchanges

We do not guarantee direct exchanges.

The fastest way to ensure you receive the item you want is to return the item you have, if eligible, and place a separate order for the new item once your return has been accepted.

Exchange availability depends on product availability at the time the new order is placed.

Refunds

We will notify you once we have received and inspected your return and will let you know whether the refund has been approved.

If approved, your refund will be issued to your original payment method, less any applicable return shipping fees, restocking fees, original shipping charges, or other non-refundable amounts.

Please allow time for your bank, credit card company, or payment provider to process and post the refund. Processing times vary by financial institution.

Late, Ineligible, or Unapproved Returns

Returns requested after the 14-day return window may not be accepted.

Returns shipped after the approved return period, returned without approval, or returned in ineligible condition may be refused, returned to the customer, or subject to applicable fees.

If an ineligible return is received, the customer may be responsible for any shipping costs required to return the item back to them.
